Smithfield Wetherill Park Early Learning Centre & Pre School
Smithfield Wetherill Park Early Learning Centre & Pre School is licensed to operate between 6.30am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday. We are a privately operated service and is licenced to 36 children per day.
• 8 children under the age of 2 years
• 28 children between the ages of 2 to 6 years.
Our motto is “ Play, Learn & Grow Together” and we strive that little bit harder to give your child the best childcare experience he or she can possibly receive.
Qualified, experienced staff, a safe and hygienic environment and stimulating indoor and outdoor equipment are just a few of the features common to our Centre. We aim to function, as an extended family in order to provide your child with the security, warmth and love which is basic to his or her development and growth.
Our staff will monitor your child’s progress constantly and adapt their daily programs to suit his or her needs. The varied cultural and religious practices of all our children are respected and we encourage extra activities to nurture special skills and talents. Most of all however, we believe childcare should be fun and our days are planned to maximise your child’s enjoyment of his or her time spent at the Centre.
Parents aren’t forgotten either. We recognise that as a parent, you are and should be the most important influence in your child’s life. Our centre encourages parental involvement, which means that you are most welcome to come and be with your child at any time of the day. Parents are encouraged to participate in whatever way they feel most comfortable. Staff will update you on your child’s progress regularly and are available to discuss concerns and queries at any time.
Our centre has become and extension of so many Western Sydney families and we hope we can discuss your childcare needs further and answer any queries you may have.
Kind Regards
Christine & Brett

Smithfield Wetherill Park Early Learning Centre & Pre School follows the Early Years Learning Framework, a national early learning framework for children from birth to five years. The Early Years framework describes childhood as a time of belonging, being and becoming.
Belonging is the basis for living a fulfilling life. Children feel they belong because of the relationships they have with their family, community, cultural and place.
Being is about living here and now. Childhood is a special time in life and children need time to just ‘be’ – time to play, try new things and have fun.
Becoming is about learning and development that young children experience. Children start to form a sense of identity from an early age, which shapes the type of adult they will become.
Smithfield Wetherill Park Early Learning Centre & Pre School promotes balance between programmed activities and spontaneous activities. We allow children to explore the environment and feel capable and resourceful by choosing their own activities and play materials.
Children’s interests and ideas are closely monitored and followed up as to provide challenging yet fun experiences. The rooms are set up into learning centres where each child is free to come and go as they please. The learning centres provide high quality materials that can be explored and discovered. We have found these learning centres to allow children to work together, extending on many social skills, while feeling important and resourceful in their play.
