Talking in Steps Pty Ltd is a paediatric speech pathology clinic who has recently added a 'ONE STOP CLINIC to our services.
The Autism Specialist Clinic is a ONE STOP clinic opened in August 2010 by Talking in Steps Speech Pathology and Mindcare Psychological Services. We have formed this multi-disciplinary clinic and are part of the Talking in Steps consortium which is a FaHCSIA approved under “Helping Children With Autism” . We offer information, assessment, intervention and support services to families and carers of children with a diagnosed Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Our clinic includes;
Talking in Steps Speech Pathology with a team of 5-6 speech pathologists. We use DIR Floortime, PECs, signing, and utilize our sensory room and Occupational therapist to gain maximum language output.
Leaps and Bounds Occupational Therapy- a sensory room, assessment of gross and fine motor skills, and sensory profile as well as therapy
Mindcare Psychological Services - sensory equipment, ADOS testing coming soon, behaviour management, toilet training and assistance with transitioning
Harmonic Tonic music therapy - to get your child sync'd with music and rhythm. Music therapy has been known to help children with Autism in learning to communicate, to make choices, make eye contact, and teach early communication skills as well as work on existing skills. We have an assessment sheet and goals sheet for the music therapist to work on which includes speech pathology, occupational therapy and goals from the psychologists.

Fiona has over 13 years experience in assessment and intervention for children aged 0-18 years and also has experience with adults. Fiona specializes in developmental delay and autism. The clinic's reputation has meant that we have had to put on more speech pathologists.
We assess and provide intervention for:
Articulation and Language Delay;
Dyspraxia;
Language-based Learning and Literacy Difficulties (we use Lindamood)

Leaps and Bounds OT is a Paediatric Occupational Therapy practice which offers therapy and assessment for children aged 0-18 years. We are able to offer specialised services to a range of neurological disorders such as;

At ‘Leaps and Bounds OT’ we work closely with the team of speech pathologists, and psychologists to maximize the child's progress and development. We offer home visits and preschool visits depending on availability. We offer a start of the art sensory room and can prepare the child's sensory needs prior to speech therapy to gain the maximum benefit from therapy.
Our therapy and intervention is based on the principles of Sensory Processing Theory, DIR®-Floortime (Greenspan & Wieder), Brushing etc.

Harmonic Tonic Music therapy is a therapy that is delivered by a qualified music therapist.
